Privacy statement
Verdant Edge Consulting (Pty) Ltd (“Verdant Edge”, “we”) is a South African company providing sustainable golf-course management services. This statement explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written to meet our obligations under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

What we collect, and why
When you use the contact form
We collect the name, email address, and message you submit. We use them only to read and respond to your enquiry. The lawful basis is your consent, given by submitting the form.
When you sign in
Parts of this site require a sign-in, handled by Microsoft Entra ID. When you sign in we receive basic profile information from your identity provider — typically your name, email address, and a user identifier — and Microsoft records sign-in and audit activity for the directory. We use this to establish who you are and what you are permitted to see. The lawful basis is the performance of our agreement with you or your organisation.
When you simply visit
Our hosting provider records standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested. This is used to operate the site securely and diagnose faults. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the service available and secure.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not profile visitors or make automated decisions about them.
Who else processes it
We use Microsoft Azure to host this site and Microsoft Entra ID to authenticate sign-ins. Microsoft acts as our operator (processor) and handles the information on our instruction. Data may be processed outside South Africa, in the regions where those services run.
How long we keep it
Contact-form enquiries are retained for as long as needed to deal with the enquiry and any follow-up, and are then deleted. Sign-in and directory records are retained for the period Microsoft applies to that service. Technical logs are retained for a short operational period.
How it is protected
Access is limited to people who need it, sign-in is required for any non-public area, and traffic to this site is encrypted in transit.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask us to:
- confirm what personal information we hold about you, and provide a copy;
- correct or delete information that is inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, or out of date;
- stop processing where you have withdrawn consent and no other basis applies; and
- object to processing based on our legitimate interest.
Write to admin@verdant-edge.co.za and we will respond within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
Changes
If this statement changes materially we will update the date above and, where the change affects you directly, tell you.
